Pricing

Free to keep your horses here. $29 a month if you sell often.

No commission on a horse sale and no listing fee — a horse listing ends in a conversation, not a checkout. Tack and gear is bought here, so that carries a marketplace fee of 7.5% of the items, capped at $99 an order. The records are free for ever; Pro Seller is an extra for people running a lot of horses.

What we do not charge for

No commission. Lope On takes nothing from the sale price. The money never passes through us.

No listing fee. List one horse or twenty.

No fee to keep records. A ReinPass for a horse that is not for sale costs nothing and always will. Charging somebody to keep their own horse’s vaccination history would be a strange way to run this.

No paid verification. A verified badge is never for sale. It says somebody checked something, and the moment it could be bought it would only say that the holder paid.

The first 100 sellers pay less

Founding Sellers get Pro Seller free for six months, then half price for six, then the normal rate. The badge is permanent. The discount lasts twelve months — it is a real head start, not free service for ever, and we would rather say so now than in month seven.

Nothing to apply for. Switch selling on and publish your first listing while places remain, and it is awarded automatically.

How the founding programme works

Later

What might cost money one day

Being straight about this now is better than surprising you later. Neither of these is available yet, and neither is needed to sell a horse.

  • Business profiles

A listing in the services directory for barns, haulers, vets and farriers, with a lead inbox.

  • Advertising

Paid advertising bought by businesses, clearly marked as advertising wherever it appears.

The core — your horses, your records, your history — stays free. Anything paid will be an extra on top, not a wall in front of what you already have.

Questions

About pricing

Is there a catch?

Not one we are hiding. Lope On is early and needs horses and people on it more than it needs revenue this year.

Do I have to pay to sell a horse?

No. Listing a horse, writing to buyers and transferring ownership are free, and there is no commission on the sale. Pro Seller is for people selling often enough to want a storefront, the numbers behind their listings, and included placement.

Will you start charging for what is free today?

Not for the core: your horses, your records and your ownership history. If anything else changes we will tell you before it does.

Do you take a cut of the sale?

No. We are not involved in the payment at all.

What if I stop using Lope On?

Your records stay yours. You can export what you have put in, and you can delete your account from settings.

How does Lope On make money then?

Pro Seller subscriptions, paid placement on listings, a small fee on Tack sales and event tickets, and advertising later. Never by selling your data or your horse’s records, and never by charging for a verified badge — a badge somebody bought would only say that they paid.
